University of London Degrees - Bachelor Degree (BSc) in International Relations:

The Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in International Relations awarded by the University of London provides a framework to think critically about world politics from various viewpoints. You will study the causes of war and the conditions of peace. But you will also look at a number of key issues in the contemporary world including problems such as environmental degradation, terrorism, the globalising of the economy, nationalism and human rights.

This Degree programme is ideal if you wish to pursue a career with international organisations, the business world, journalism or the foreign service of your country.

To complete the Bachelor Degree in International Ralations you must pass the course units listed below:

First Year:

  • Introduction to International Relations

  • Principles of Sociology

  • Introduction to Business and Management

  • World Development

Second Year:

  • Democratic Politics and the State

  • Foreign Policy Analysis

  • International Institutions

  • International Political Theory

Third Year:

  • International Political Economy

  • International Security

  • Development Management

  • Complex Emergencies and Humanitarian Responses

Students at attend classes 12 hours per week, if studying four full units.

Examinations are held once a year in May/June. External students’ examinations are assessed by academics from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) to the same standard as the students at LSE in London.
