Certificate Programmes - Individual Undergraduate Courses:

At you can take individual undergraduate courses from the University of London International Programmes to enhance your skills or professional knowledge, or to satisfy the accreditation requirements of a university or professional body, or simply to study certain subjects in which you are interested.

All courses are based on regular courses from the undergraduate programme at London School of Economics and Political Science (one of the University’s 19 Colleges) and are divided into three levels that relate to the three years of of undergraduate study in the U.K. Within the context of higher education awards, the levels are: Level 4 (equivalent to introductory-level university courses), Level 5 (equivalent to intermediate-level university courses) and Level 6 (equivalent to either final-year undergraduate or first-year graduate courses).

  • Introduction to economics

  • Introduction to international relations

  • World history since 1917

  • Mathematics 1 (half course)

  • Democratic politics and the State

  • Principles of sociology

  • Reading social science (half course)

  • Statistics 1 (half course)

  • Principles of accounting

  • Introduction to business and management
     

  • Level 5
  • Economic history in the 20th century

  • Economic geography

  • International institutions

  • Foreign policy analysis

  • Elements of social and applied psychology

  • Social reseach methods

    Level 6
  • Principles of marketing

  • Management: international and comparative perspectives

  • Human resource management

  • Management and innovation of e-business

  • Complex emergencies and humanitarian responses

  • Development management

  • International political economy

  • Security in international relations

  • International political theory

  • If, after completing an individual course, you apply and are admitted to register for a Degree or Diploma programme, you can obtain credit for the individual course or courses you have taken in Malaga registered as a student of the University of London.

    Assessment is by one written examination (and examinations are held once a year in May/June).

    Class sessions start the first week of October and continue till early/mid May.
